" Above all else, just a hope that our brand can
make a difference, whether that’s to how we see ourselves, our planet or
others- we hope our brand can be that difference, to allow you to feel
everything that makes you you, whatever that is"

Our first sustainable collection is now here and we couldn’t be happier to
share it with you. We can’t lie, it’s been a tumultuous ride the past few
months, like most we’ve had our plans changed and then changed again
50 times over. Weeks of planning, turned on its head in a matter of a few
hours – changing flights, getting tests, samples getting stuck and simply
not knowing how we would be able to achieve our dream. But, through all
that we’ve finally launched our very first sustainable range.
The Maldives collection, obviously.

This collection, named after our very first shoot location, the stunning
Maldives island is a combination of flattering shapes, pastel tones and a
touch of vibrancy. We worked so SO hard to perfect our first collection,
from fit to print we wanted to make sure it was as close to perfect as you
can be. With that intention, came a lot of rounds of sampling (sometimes
one too many from Mon) but ultimately we wanted to be absolutely sure it
was right. Our Laila and Hazel swimsuits weren’t actually 100% complete
until a few weeks after the shoot- even though the girls loved them we
knew they could be better and more supportive. It pushed us back, but we
were all agreed in the end that it was absolutely the right thing to do to
push a little harder and get the end result. We are literally so beyond
proud of this collection, everything is really exactly how we envisaged it
would be. The structure in the Amanda two piece is honestly like two
hands holding up your boobs, honestly. The lemon print is that perfect
manifestation of Amalfi coast meets Miami sunshine- not sure how that
even works but it just makes sense! Everyone on our shoot was obsessed
with the Ella two piece as soon as we did our fittings, that classic black
with gold detailing just complemented everyone perfectly – we are
obsessed!

Naturally we’re under no illusions that in this climate, a new swimwear
brand is going to face its fair share of challenges. We get that, we’re not
naïve enough to think this global pandemic hasn’t changed us all. But one
thing we’ve always had, is hope, an all-consuming hope for the future.
Now for us that doesn’t just mean hoping for a world with travel again
(although that is pretty high on our list), but also a hope for our future
generation, a hope that our habits with fast fashion can be changed. A
hope that we can all make small changes to create one big change for our
planet. A hope that we can enstill a standard, that every body is
represented in a fashion campaign, not just the “marketable” shapes. A
hope that our community and all of those who join us along the way will
eventually be able to see themselves reflected on social media, not aspire
to an unattainable dream. Above all else, just a hope that our brand can
make a difference, whether that’s to how we see ourselves, our planet or
others- we hope our brand can be that difference, to allow you to feel
everything that makes you you, whatever that is.

So we really hope you enjoyed getting an insight into what launch means
to us by reading this, leave us a comment or drop us a DM on Instagram if
you enjoyed our ramble and we can’t wait to see you all in The Maldives
collection!
